Remember the elastic-waist skirt fail I had recently? Well I ended up taking 4 inches off of this sucker to get it right. It definitely needs to be washed a few times to loosen up but I can see myself wearing it with everything. It's true love.

Tank -Merona/ Target -remixed with my tutorial
Skirt -me made
Shoes -So/ Kohls
Sunnies -Target
On another note Victoria from Batzy and asj from forever 88 gave me some bloggy awards!
Basically I need to share some stuff about myself with you all and pass on the lovin'. And since I have a great bit of new followers...this just happens to be a good time to do so.
Let's see...
I just moved back to Virginia. I am going to be moving to Morgantown, WV soon and building a new house. Currently I am living in an RV with my mister, my 3 kitties and 2 turtles...oh and my sewing machine. =D When we move I'm going to put in a huge garden, harvest rainwater, have free-range chickens and preserve our family's land with all of my being.
Let's be brutally honest. I wear my heart on my sleeve and have a hard time not taking things personal. I have low self-esteem, am usually shy and quiet when you first meet me. I constantly find myself putting my foot in my mouth and second guessing myself.
I have moved alot in my 28 years and don't have very many close friends. I'm really crappy with long distance relationships. My husband is my best friend...we tell each other everything, speak openly and have a connection that I will never be able to explain. My oldest friend would be my cousin Stacey in Florida...we can pick up where we left off no matter how long it's been since we last spoke. She has been there for me through thick and thin. Like PB&J.
I have 6 tattoos. The tribal on my arm is my least favorite. It is in memory of my cousin Chad who was killed in a car accident when we were 20. We were only 2 months apart and he was like my brother. It is a version of his tattoo but poorly inked. I am going to have it covered with a large owl in 70's colors with gem-like eyes. It will be in honor of our souls. Here's my favorite...it takes up half of my back.Let's see...

My regular vocabulary includes phrases like geez-oye, goodness gracious and holy moley. I have no problem admitting that I am a total nerd.
I am a bit of a germaphobe, a clean freak, a nature lover, an outdoors enthusiast, I wish I could help every animal in the world, save all of the oceans, lakes and streams and recycle everything. I can't watch shows with animals being abused, mistreated or sick. It hurts my heart. Oh and I'm the one everyone comes to about making stuff. That's just how it is. haha
Wow, that's more than I planned. I'm going to leave this up to you...if you want to share something with me here in the comments or on your blog, please do. Thanks for reading! ♥ ♥

I so want chickens at my house when I get a property too! I just don't want any roosters near by because they crow at 2:00am in the morning and other such ungodly hours....
I don't deal well with being woken up early. :p
xox,
b. of Depict This!
It's so exciting to find a craft/fashion/life/etc blogger from WV! I can't remember how I found your site, but I know that seeing "Gabe's" named as a place where you'd purchased something caught my attention, and then I saw river photos and knew instantly it had to be somewhere in that neck of the woods. I'm a WV (about 30 minutes south of Mo-town) girl who transplanted to NE for grad school about a year ago. I miss my state, but it's nice to get reminders of it through you :) Keep it up!
Well, I have to say that I obviously don't know you, but think you are the LAST person who should have low self esteem! Honestly, I get really excited when I see your blog posts, because they're so damn inspiring to me! Especially the "what I wore today" posts...I have no clue how to dress myself EVER so it's really nice to have something to draw from in that department. I don't care what people think of me, but want to dress the way I feel and I am sloooooooooowly learning how to do that successfully, and you help :)
Well, sorry if I creeped you out! lol. Hope it's good to know that a stranger thinks you're AWESOME!
congrats on the awards!
just stumbled across your blog and i think its GORGEOUS!

I wish I had your mad sewing skills. I just can't figure out my machine for the life of me.
I am the same way...I care WAY too much what people think and will always overanalyze things and second guess myself.
Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself =D
HAHA I love how everyone uses nerd words like me. ♥
